Unto Mistress Jaelle of Armida, Laurel Queen of Arms, Mistress Sionyn Muirgen ní Dhomnall and the other members of the College of Arms does Lord Thomas Flamanc of Kelsale on behalf of the College of Heralds in Lochac send greetings.

AHHH, MY THESIS!

Your servant,
Thomas Flamanc of Kelsale
Crux Australis Herald.

It is the intent of the College of Heralds in Lochac for the following to be registered...

1. Alaric of Bangor
Mundane Name: Stephen Parsons
Group: St Florian-de-la-Riviere

Device Resubmission to Kingdom. Per bend sinister vert and sable, in fess a sword palewise and a griffin sejant erect or armed argent.

Alaric's previous device submission Per bend sinister vert and sable, a griffin sejant errect maintaining by the blade a sword palewise or was returned by the West Kingdom in March 1996 for conflict with Degary Golafre of Pembroke Quarterly sabl;e and gules, a griffin segreant coward bearing in her dexter talon a celtic cross and in sinister talon a sword inverted or (SCA Nov 1995). This should be now clear of conflict as the sword should now be a significant charge and as such he should get a CVD for this as well as the field.

Consulting Herald: Nerrisa de Saye

2. Jourdain de Marcenais
Mundane Name: Paul Harris
Group: Shöntal

New name and device. Per fess azure and gules, a pall inverted or between three roundels enchancré or.

Language: French.

Jourdain appears on p346 of Dauzat[1] under Jordan. Marcenais appears to be a place in Gascony. I can neither confirm or deny this.

The roundels enchancré according to the PicDic [2] are an SCA invention which raises the question of their registerablity, they do not appear to be too out of place but it is up to Laurel.

Consulting Herald: The Submitter

3. Milborough Aldaway
Mundane Name: Wendy Martin
Group: Rowany

Device Resubmission to Kingdom. Argent, two cats sejant addorsed within a bordure embattled sable.

This lady's previous submission of Argent, a cat sejant to sinister within a bordure paly bendy sable and argent was returned because the bordure shared a tincture with the field, and was also in conflict with Tamar Walshman, Argent, a cat sejant contourny sable within a bordure per pale azure and gules. This new device clears these problems, and whilst it seems terminally cute it is probably OK.

Consulting Herald: Baronness Alarice Beatrice Von Thal

4. Nerissa de Saye
Mundane Name: Jenny Fraser
Group: St Florian-de-la-Riviere

Device Resubmission to Kingdom. Per pale gules and purpure, between three voided western crowns or, a unicorn passant regardant argent, armed and crined or.

Nerissa's previous device was returned for conflict with Selena of Dragon's Bay, Vert a dapple grey unicorn statant (SCA Aug 74). This should now be clear. She was Princess last year and received her Viscounty at Twelfth Night January 1997 when she stepped down.

Consulting Herald: Herself.
