CAMEL, April 2019
Unto the heralds and populace of the Kingdom of Lochac does Amanda Martel, Crux Australis Principal Herald, send greetings.
Another month is gone, and Rowany Festival fast approaches! I’m not going to say how long because if I don’t look at the calendar then maybe I can sneak one more project in before I have to pack.
At Festival, there’ll be a College of Heralds meeting, in the Meeting Room, at 12 noon on Friday. I’d like to use it as a space to get to know a bunch of the heralds I’ve not met yet, hear what concerns or suggestions people have, and discuss a few ideas I have for improving how the College of Heralds runs plus how it could be better.
If you can’t make it to the meeting, but have something you’d like to discuss in person, feel free to come see me at some other point of Festival (my flitting about to various activities notwithstanding).

Applications remain open for Coffyn Herald.
This role is my second-in-command and drop-dead deputy (should I be rendered unable to serve as Crux Australis, Coffyn Herald holds things together until I’m back in action or a new Crux can be found). Coffyn also handles and/or manages the various special projects going on within the College of Heralds.
If you think you’d be a good match for this role, please send your application to herald@lochac.sca.org. As part of applications, I would also be interested to hear if you have project ideas that you think would benefit the Kingdom.
Applications close on the 10th of April.

The Lochac Heralds’ Campfire group on Facebook is off to a great start, with a lot of good discussions going. As a reminder, the group is only open to people on the Lochac College of Heralds roster – when you apply to join the group, you’ll be asked for your SCA name as it appears on the roster. If you don’t give an answer, or an answer that isn’t on the roster, then you won’t be joining the group today.
The Heralds’ Campfire group is available at www.facebook.com/groups/heraldcampfire/
