CAMEL, August 2019
Unto the heralds and populace of the Kingdom of Lochac does Amanda Martel, Crux Australis Principal Herald, send greetings.
This month’s LOAR brings us some fascinating news for the submissions process, and one I think that a number of you will be glad to hear of.
Some device or badge submissions will occasionally be returned “for redraw”. This is, essentially, because of a problem with the way something’s been drawn that it wasn’t identifiable, or was on the border between two definitions, or similar problems.
From now on, rather than returning these submissions, the College of Arms will produce a revised copy of the art, send it back through the chain to the submitter for approval, and if all goes well, proceed with the registration based on that. This will make for a much faster process than having it returned, and then resubmitted through the whole pipeline again.
The submitter’s approval is needed for the redrawn art, and if it takes the design too far away from what they wanted in some way, then it won’t be forced on them.
I hope that this improvement will help the populace of Lochac to register their armoury more smoothly, and help to remind people that the heralds actually do want to help.
The following items have been registered in Lochac on the June 2019 Letter of Acceptance and Response:
Johannes van Wijnderswyc. Reblazon of device. Per pale argent and purpure, a dunghill cock issuant from in base a pair of breeches counterchanged.
Yours in service to the Kingdom and Crown of Lochac,
Amanda Martel
