CAMEL, May 2024
Unto the heralds and populace of Lochac does Gwyn Cantor send greetings,
and the May CAMEL!
I have the pleasure of assisting as Acting Crux Australis Principal
Herald for the next several months.
Meanwhile, there is a great deal of activity and news in heraldry in
Lochac.

News
Congratulations to THL Gwen verch David, Court Herald of King Aonghus
and Queen Ginevra, upon recognition with the Lochac Order of Grace for
constant courtesy to all and grace under pressure.
Their Majesties King Aonghus and Queen Ginevra did also create the Order
of the Azure Tear, the Order of the Azure Sword, the Order of the Azure
Lily, the Order of the Hand and Needle, and the Camera Obscura. Thank
you and well done to the consulting heralds Gabrielle Hamilton, Amelot
de Akeney and Isabella de Bordeaux for their work on submission of these
award names and badges for registration.
Congratulations to Gabriel Ziegler on passing the milestone of 50
successful registrations as consulting herald!
At last count, we have 55 heralds who have answered the Heraldic Census
LIX! It is wonderful to see we have so many active heralds in Lochac.
Thanks to Tiberius Aelius Paulli filius Sabatina tribu Faustus
Vespertilio who has fixed the code and Ollivier Le Floch who has run the
census and populated the roster, you can view the list and the heralds’
areas of expertise at https://herald.lochac.sca.org/roster/

Additional Comments
I have left out substantial detail from the New Registrations list
above, for brevity. If you want all the goss, as soon as it comes out,
subscribe to the Letters of Acceptance at the link at the bottom of the
page https://heraldry.sca.org/lists.html. This will also send you the
Cover Letter with useful news on any changes in name and device
registration guidelines.
Set yourself a consultations and submissions challenge, such as 50
successful registrations, or send word of your favourite consulting
herald! I would love to hear more news of consulting heralds’
milestones. Their art and service is so often done quietly.
Yours in service,
Gwyn Cantor
